SURFACES
The subtlety of tone and surface that’s possible with high-fire glazes is thrilling. Adding this organic variability to a built structure introduces something vital — a live edge. Scroll down the page for some close-ups. These are only a sampling, because I develop a new palette and design aesthetic for each project.
SCULPTED TILES are also available. While I don’t emphasize pictorial work in my ceramics at the moment, I can sometimes be talked into it.
A couple of examples that I dug out of my older boxes are shown here. I have decades of multimedia art experience, and can design and carve pretty much anything - abstract or figurative. If multiple copies of a sculpted tile are needed, I fabricate a plaster mold so that identical tiles can be produced.
